Sprinkler tank repair and refurbishment is now one of Nationwide Water Solutions core lines of business. Over the last three years we have refurbished or repaired a huge number of sprinkler tanks throughout the UK. Sprinkler tanks can range from around 100,000 litres up to around 2 million litres. Our largest sprinkler tank refurbishment project to date is a 1.2 million litre project in Basildon.

Sprinkler Tank Relining & Epoxy Coating

Sprinkler tanks can be refurbished using two methods; the epoxy coating system and the flexible lining system. The flexible lining system is generally used in circumstances where tanks have an existing faulty lining or epoxy coating is not a viable option.

The sprinkler epoxy coating system involves the draining and cleaning of the vessel, followed by fibreglass repairs to all leaking and badly corroded areas. The tanks internal surfaces are then cleaned and a three coat epoxy paint system is then applied to prevent any further corrosion.

The flexible lining system involves the draining and cleaning of the vessel, followed by the removal of one lower tank panel. A geomembrane protection layer is then applied to the sprinkler tanks base and walls to protect the lining. The lining is then positioned at the base of the tank; the lining walls are then hoisted into position and secured just below the sprinkler tanks lid. The lining material itself is used as a gasket for all sprinkler tank connections.

During the sprinkler repair or refurbishment procedure, a number of health and safety issues have to be addressed. All our engineers are Confined Space, Working at Height, Mobile Scaffold and First Aid Trained. Tank refurbishment can be carried out using the epoxy coating system or the flexible lining system. The flexible lining system is generally used in circumstances where sprinkler tanks have an existing faulty lining or are beyond manual repair. The Epoxy coating system consists of draining and cleaning of the vessel, followed by fibreglass repairs to all leaking and corroded areas. Once the internal surfaces are cleaned a three coat epoxy paint system is then applied to prevent further corrosion.

Sprinkler Tank ROV Survey

Our sprinkler surveys are carried out using a remotely operated underwater camera, or underwater camera and carbon fibre poles. Detailed images are taken of all the sprinkler tanks internal surfaces, fixings, base and roof. A full PDF and written report are forwarded on completion, outlining any defects of remedial works required to bring the tank up to industry standards. Surveys generally take around 3 hours to complete, with around 3-4 days for the PDF report to be forwarded.

Free Sprinkler Site Survey

We offer a FREE NATIONWIDE sprinkler tank site visit, where we will carryout a visual inspection of the tank, both internally and externally. A portable pole camera will be used to give an overall condition of the tanks internal condition. Based on the results, we will forward a list of recommendations, and a quote for any remedial works.
